Thank you so much for sharing your work on the internet! I have been struggling to find ways to help the students in the small special school where I teach music to play together with some musicality! They just love guitar, xylophone and violin and after seeing your ingenious tuning system I have been inspired by the possibilities it has opened up for us. I can't wait to give it a try! Your musicians are fantastic performers!

Wow! I loved watching the "Everything that You Feel" video. The words to the song are so powerful and it is such a visual treat to see the orchestra and dance troupe perform to it! Kevin has a great voice!! And I love watching how giddy the dancers get when they are up there. Azita, you are a true entertainer!!!
Subject: Holiday Greetings and Thanks from the Governor
As Special Orchestra's WebMaster, one thing I've learned about our leader, Gair, is he's not one to seek a lot of personal credit or publicity or "blow his own horn" when something good happens. Still, every so often, despite his best efforts to keep the good work he does on behalf of Special Orchestra secret, someone important sneaks around the corner when Gair's not looking and pats him and everyone on the Special Orchestra Team on the back.
That's what happened last week when the attached personal letter and holiday greeting from New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson showed up in Special Orchestra's, PO Box addressed to Gair. Knowing Gair might never publicize such a letter himself, I decided to do it for him.
So, here it is. Just click the blue {image} link below to see the Governor's letter and read it for yourself. I hope you enjoy it. And when you see Gair or other members of the Special Orchestra Team, be sure to mention this letter and pat them on the back or give them a hug to say thanks too, okay? Gair and Azita and the members of our board work hard and don't get lots of Thank Yous, hugs or pats on the back either. Why not do what our Governor did and make it a point to say, "Thanks!" too?
Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Saucy Solstice, Joyous Kwanza and Happy New Year to all!
Subject: Greetings from: Greeley/Loveland Special Community Orchestra!
Gair,
I read the (Enchantment) article about the (NM) Special Orchestra and was very impressed with the happenings of NM Special Orchestra.
I am a senior at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley majoring in music education. Last year I saw the (NM) Special Orchestra at the (Albuquerque) Folk Festival and was truly inspired. In lieu of this, a friend and I started the Greeley/Loveland Special Community Orchestra or SCO. We have had a full year with several concerts and a group of about 9 people. The SCO has student volunteers from UNC come play with the special musicians in our every other week rehearsals and at the end of the semester we do a concert for the parents and community.
In the article it stated that you hoped Special Orchestra would spread beyond the Land of Enchantment, and I wanted to let you know that it certainly has in Greeley/Loveland Colorado. Thank you so much for the inspiration and I am still in awe of the (NM) Special Orchestra!

Dear Katie...
How exciting to hear about your group ... nothing makes us happier! If you will send us a mailing address, (when you have one) we will get some books and CDs and other goodies right out to you.
With your permission, our web guy would like to cut and paste parts of your email letter, into our online guestbook (without publishing your email address, of course). Or, if you should have any photos or videos that you are able to share, we'll try to put them up too.
I just sent you a link to the title song of our dance-musical, Everything That You Feel. We've had good success in recent years, merging some dance and drama into our music.
Please keep us informed, I might be able to buzz up there for a rehearsal or to attend a concert. Are your special needs participants primarily adults? Or younger kids? Just curious. Please keep up the good work and let us know about the guestbook and where to mail things.
Subject: Everything That You Feel (Dance Musical) Review
Within minutes of the posting of Special Orchestra's "Everything that You Feel" Dance Musical video, YouTube Member care2drew posted this review on YouTube. It made us smile so we're sharing it with you...
I spotted the article about Special Orchestra in the new issue of Enchantment today. It was very enjoyable and informative. I'm pleased and proud to know your group is around in our state to help those with special needs express their creativity and get public attention in a positive way!
New Mexico should consider itself lucky to have Special Orchestra! They recently presented a delightful, original play/musical, "Everything You Feel" at the public library in Albuquerque. It was evident that all participants, regardless of their abilities, were truly engaged, proud, and felt justifiably successful no matter their contribution. You can't put a dollar value on the joy Special Orchestra provides so many people. God bless this organization and it's founder, Gair Linhart.
